With Auto Donation, Everyone's A Winner

Charities, for example the American Red Cross and Goodwill Industries, rely on charitable giving from the public in order to advance their work. With the economic downturn of the past twelve months, finding donors has become difficult. At the same time, a greater number of people than ever require the services these organizations offer. One avenue they have tapped into to secure money is vehicle donation.

Often individuals have cars that are not worth very much, or may have fallen into disrepair and aren't worth repairing. They may be vehicles  that were used by a son or daughter that is now not living in the home or by an older owner who has stopped driving. It isn't a worthwhile proposition to try and sell the auto and auto salvage companies pay hardly anything or in some cases even charge you to tow a car away. You can choose to give a vehicle  to charity.

As well as cars, boats, SUVs, trucks and even motorcycles can be donated. The charitable organization picks up the car or other vehicle from the home of the giver within one or two days of being called. The  owner is provided with a statement of value which confirms the value of the gift. This can be used for tax purposes. If you donate your auto to a non-profit agency, you are eligible for a tax deduction.

Auto donation is a major source of funds for charities. In many  states, a car can be donated even if the title is misplaced. Regulations on this do change between states and are often related to the age and value of the vehicle. When you call to donate your auto, you may inquire if the title is required.

If you contact a salvage yard in an attempt to sell a auto that is not running, they may be uninterested and may even charge to tow the car. If you contact a charitable organization, they will pick up the car without charge and you can be confident that you have done something good for another person. It s better than bargaining with the tow truck operator from a vehicle salvage business. With auto donation everyone is a winner.
