Regulations on this do change between states and are often related to the age and value of the vehicle. When you call to donate your auto, you may inquire if the title is required.

If you contact a salvage yard in an attempt to sell a auto that is not running, they may be uninterested and may even charge to tow the car. If you contact a charitable organization, they will pick up the car without charge and you can be confident that you have done something good for another person. It s better than bargaining with the tow truck operator from a vehicle salvage business. With auto donation everyone is a winner.
